It is hard to get into the excitement of Fourth of July in a small town in Poland. Yesterday we ventured to the beach (with the permission of the director). It is a 40 minute bus ride to town that sounds like Weba on the Baltic Sea. The sand was pure white, like the Gulf Coast of Florida. The water wasn't beautiful clear blue water, but it was ocean cold. We suspect it was Maya's first visit to the ocean. She liked playing in the sand, the cold water on her feet, and the small waves hitting up on her. We worked together to build a neat sandcastle.
Currently, Maya has a cold with a fever, so we are dealing with the typical kids cold issues. Which means waking up in the middle of the night with a fever and cough. Poor kid had to take a shower at midnight to cool her down a bit. Always interesting times with kids.
Tomorrow we will explore out to a large park on the outskirts of Lembork, taking a picnic lunch, bubbles, and other fun picnic things. They have great looking watermelons in the store so what else do we need for our fourth of july picnic????
