Memorial Day - Maya's Room - another phone call

We got to speak with Maya again this morning. She has been looking at the picture book we left and has been learning to say our names including Mason's. Her favorite pictures are of the family, Maizey and a picture of Mason and I on a John Deere tractor (she likes the tractor.)

We also got to speak to the Orphanage director (who speaks english). She said Maya is just doing really well and is happy. She got new glasses and can see better. She loves to look at her picture book and is excited when we call. We are so lucky this is a great orphanage and they have been spending so much time with Maya making sure she knows who we are and is excited.

She also asked if/when we were ready to come back. We confirmed that we were ready right now. She mentioned that she had received an answer on our paperwork from Warsaw and will give to the judge. Then in a week she will talk to the judge and in a week we can come. So we think that might mean we can go in 2-3 weeks. Hooray! We'll confirm with our contact this week.

On another note, Stephanie came up this weekend to help us get Maya's room ready. We needed to finish painting the baseboards and get Maya's bed put together. Then clean out the room. We were succesful. We are now in organizing mode. ---Well and wait, wait, wait - mode.

  1. Wow, Christina, that is awesome. So, are you targeting the middle of June or thereabouts for a return visit to Poland? And will that visit then be for up to 5 weeks? Yikes, this is getting really close. It's so exciting - we can't wait. Steph has told us that she had a fabulous time helping you get ready. Thanks for including her.
