We were able to speak with Maya this morning and with the orphanage director. She confirmed that we will know the dates on Tuesday. She said that Maya is getting very excited and is becoming comfortable with the concept of a mom, dad, and brother. She said she told her that her mom and dad are buying her bed, getting her toys, and buying her a closet full of clothes. hmmmm. But yes, we are putting clothes in her closet and toys on her shelf. She was a bit more talkative on the phone today. She even said grandma or grandparents (?).
Yesterday evening we worked on pulling Maya's room together. It isn't quite finished, but it looks pretty cute. We still have some ladybugs and dragonflys to put on the walls. My grandma made the big teddybear and the blanket on the bed. Matt painted the flowers in the picture and the little dressers were in both my mom's and and my room when we were little. My parents refinished them for Maya. Mason also p
ainted the rosebush picture. There is also a PeterPan picture that is from Matt's parents house that he remembers when he was little.
Whoohoo - almost ready......
What a beautiful room! She will love it! I'll be checking for your dates on Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYou, Matt, and Mason have done a wonderful job on the room. I know she will love it! Looking forward to a positive update on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWow, the room looks great. It's such a change from the old configuration, and so much more welcoming for Maya!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Little girls are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteThe room is now officially finished! Mason informed me last night that the luggage and boxes I had in the room were not cute and had to be removed. So I finished putting her new clothes and toys away, decided on clothe to take to Poland and officially "finished the room." Mason snuck in after his bedtime and added a silvery-white cat from his stuffed animal collection to top it off. Such a sweet kid.
