Christmas and a B-day! Alissa is 5:)

We had a wonderful Christmas with the grandparents and family. Here are a few pictures to enjoy!

Alissa and her b-day cake after jumping at Pump-It-Up for 1.5 hours w/ her friends at her FIRST b-day party! She did excellently, no panic attacks, and even made it through everyone singing Happy Birthday. We couldn't get a dog which she loves so the cake was my replacement. She loved it and was still talking about it today.

Alissa is in the middle, brother is in the back. Fun times were had by all!

The day of her b-day we took her to see a Dolphin show. She was easily the most excited child there. The people in front of us, with two kids of their own, kept laughing everytime she saw a dolphin.

AND then Christmas!!!!

Here are the kids with their present from Santa. Alissa asked for a purple present, so the wrapping blanket and bows were purple. Our son is in love with fish, hence the paper. Once opened she loved her pretend horse and cowgirl outfit. She found the hat in our halloween dress-up drawer.

Overall, we had a wonderful Christmas and Alissa did really well with the presents, plays, schedule changes, grandparents coming & leaving, etc. She seemed to have a great time and understand better the stories around Christmas.

  7. Surprisingly enough Pump It Up seems like it would be a difficult place for someone like Alissa, but in reality it plays really well for someone with sensory issues. She can run around, fall anywhere, run into things, tackle blown up wavy things, scream, slide fast, and use her muscles to climb up mountains. I've been told that all of that is actually centering/calming to her. Not to me the parent, but to her it is.
