Certificate of Citizenship!

Alissa received her Certificate of Citizenship in the mail yesterday. She was a citizen upon entering the US and getting her US Visa stamped in her Polish passport, but that typically isn't strong enough proof for people that don't know immigration law. Hooray!!!!!!

Now that we have the certificate we can apply for her SSN. Then a US passport! The paperwork never seems to end. I'm also signing a contract for the post-placement reports that are due to Poland during the first year.

  1. Congratulations on receiving the Certificate of Citizenship. We still haven't applied for the US Passport because it's not a high priority for us at this time.

We didn't get the post placement report done until seven months after we got back. So don't stress too much about it.

We are right there with you... we got Chris' SSN in the mail last month. And now we are hoping to get to the passport office soon. Maybe next week. What a feeling to have all the documents in hand!
